My name is Alexandros Thurman Dimitriadis.
I’m half Greek, half American—born and raised in Athens, Greece.
I studied Architecture in Canterbury, England for three years, then shifted to Philosophy and Film Studies in London.
Back in Athens, I worked on various projects as a freelancer for six years, mainly as a Director, DP, and Editor.
In 2015, I decided to leave Greece and move to the U.S. with just 300 euros in my pocket. I started working on weed farms in Northern California. When that ended, I moved to Los Angeles, where I had an accident on my first freelance job that landed me in the hospital. That set me back, and I returned to Greece for the summer.
I went back for a second season on the farms, but afterward felt the need for a lifestyle change. I ended up working at a ski resort in Idaho—didn’t last. Then I moved to rural Virginia to stay on my mother’s farm. I worked as a waiter and later as an Uber driver. Honestly, I learned more about people and the world in those two jobs than in most of my “professional” work.
During that time, I also worked on a couple of documentary projects—one at the Solar Eclipse Festival in Oregon in 2017, and one in Florida, directed by a friend from Greece.
Eventually, I joined a production company in Richmond, Virginia. I started as an Editor, became a DP, and finally a Director. Just before my second commercial as a Director, I had a second accident. This one nearly killed me. Looking back, it turned out to be one of the best things that ever happened to me.
Recovery took time. I left Virginia, returned to LA, and worked as an assistant editor on a documentary. But I realized that life in LA and working in an office wasn’t for me. When the project ended, I went back to Greece with no clear plan.
Then came a seasonal job selling Christmas trees on the streets of New York. After that, I got into cryptocurrency. When I returned to Greece, COVID hit, and I started trading crypto full-time. That went well and gave me the financial freedom to focus on my health and creativity.
One night, I had a dream that sparked something in me. I started drawing intensely. Then I began traveling, collecting stones, and creating small installations in nature and sacred sites—both natural and man-made.
In the summer of 2022, I was invited to show some of my drawings in a group exhibition in Athens. In 2023, I was invited again—this time to present a stone installation and video art.
Over the past two years, I’ve continued drawing and making stone installations in nature. In 2025, I began working on a larger piece at an undisclosed mountain location in Greece. It’s been six months already, and I may continue for another year.
I also started getting back into filmmaking in 2024–25 and contributed a video art piece to a group exhibition in Athens in May 2025.
I made this website to share some of my work and to see where it all goes. I don’t have a plan—for this or for life. I follow a little compass in my heart. I don’t need to know what’s next. The future doesn’t exist. The past is memory. The only thing that’s real is now.
I like writing, drawing, making stone installations, and filming—not because I have to, but because that’s how I live in the present moment.
